Form Design

Whether it's for changing an account's settings, creating an onboarding experience or filling out an application, forms are extensively used in SaaS (Software as a Service) applications or Enterprise Software. This is a small concept for a Direct Debit Authorization Form.

Notice how related information is grouped into sections to make information on the form easily digestible. In a case where the form is long, this approach allows you to avoid overwhelming your user. Each section is complemented with supporting text to provide some context or clarity.

By breaking the page up into multiple columns (ie the section title and supporting text in one column and the inputs in another) we even out the page without stretching the inputs to its full width. The boarders serve as a divider, enabling the user to determine the length of each section within the form.
