Adobe x Hoodzpah Personal Project Tutorial

We recently teamed up with Adobe Create Magazine to release a fun How-To Tutorial AND do an interview on our studio!

The How-To is about personal projects. Personal Projects can often lead to paid work, so create personal work that shows you can do the kind of work you want to get paid for! A good example of that is: our friends @ericmortensen and @skinnyships do a fun project called 10x every year where 10 artists recreate their favorite albums of the year. After participating in a few 10x 's we get asked to do a lot of album artwork, because that's what potential clients see us sharing in our portfolios and on social.

SO... Adobe asked us to share some tips on how to create your own personal project, like an album cover, and our main piece of advice was "consistency". Using the Libraries feature in Adobe Illustrator is a great way to keep your colors, patterns, fonts, and logos in one place so that your project looks consistent and there's a clear style.

Download our library and tutorial (written by thrifting queen and Adobe Hostess with the mostest, Kathleen Martin) for this project with this color palette, the custom brushes I made, AND the pattern swatches for use on *your* next personal project: https://create.adobe.com/2020/03/25/how-to-make-album-cover-adobe-illustrator.html
