OGC Nice | Logo Redesign
Have you ever visited Nice?
I've spent a few hours in Nice a couple of years ago and fell in love with it instantly. Mediterranean Sea, blue sky, beautiful architecture and mesmerizing views all over the place. On top of all that, a moment I'll never forget.
The bus I was in, was passing by the Allianz Riviera, home of the Olympique Gymnaste Club Nice. For a football fan, passing by a football stadium is a goose-bumps-inducing moment. You start imagining the atmosphere, the sounds, the feeling when the game is on. It's hard for describing, but easy to remember for a long time.
As I recently started with logo redesigns of football clubs, I thought it would be worth checking out what's the situation with the visual identity of the team that calls the beautiful city of Nice - its home. After doing so, the conclusion was that there could be some catching up between their current visual identity and the classy, bold and modern vibe of the city and surrounding areas.
What you have in front of you is the result of the challenge I made for myself. The symbolism of the current logo remained. The right-facing eagle on the coat of arms is one of the city's main symbols. The nickname of the club is The Eagles. The club's logo from 1948 to 1992 inspired the return of the acronym OGCN. It is a decision that marks the connection of club's history with its maturity and readiness to step into the next chapter of the story.
This time, I didn't want to bother you too much with technical details about the club, but to put more focus on the story that made me feel especially enthusiastic while I was in the process of creating this concept.
As always, your feedback would be highly appreciated...
Stay safe, fellow players!
