Shoutout to my fellow small biz owners who are rolling with the punches in this uncertain time 💕⁠

I know there are a lot of you creatives, freelancers, and small biz owners who feel nervous or guilty about promoting yourself right now, but I don’t think you should for one big reason: your business and your creative work has inherent value.⁠

Think of how many businesses you’ve supported during this time: grocery stores, pharmacies, your favorite local restaurants, Netflix and Hulu, alcohol delivery...We’re all spending money on a mix of important things we need to survive physically and frivolous things we need to keep us alive mentally. I would argue that both are equally important to get us through this!⁠

If your small business somehow brings joy, love, humor, knowledge, or connection during this unprecedented crisis, I say go on with your bad self and sell it. If someone can afford to buy it, they will. If they can’t, they won’t. It’s really that simple.⁠

There’s no guilt when you think of your business as something that’s valuable no matter what situation the world is in. I invite you all to extend the same kindness you’re showing by supporting your favorite local businesses to yourself. 💖⁠
