Brief: The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has set a vision to transform the traditional manual works and services into digital systems to ensure service delivery at the Citizen's Door Steps. To meet the goal of ‘Digital Bangladesh ‘with vision 2021 the A2I, Prime Minister's Office and Cabinet Division have jointly taken this initiative to assist different Government Organizations to identify citizen-centric services, prepare a road map and proceed with the implementation of the same. As a part of the program, this project has taken initiative to make a design, develop and implement a comprehensive ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to Automate BARD. The main mandate of BARD is to provide training, research, action research services; and provide advisory services to the Government/Policy planners. The academy is providing training services to the government officials, representatives of the local government and village organization, international organization and individuals on various subjects relating to rural development. Besides, they conduct research and pilot action research on rural development and other relevant issues. With a strong integrated system, it is focused on IT usage with a view to increasing value to its activities, services, and products. As part of its commitment to ensuring better management and control, the Management of BARD is in the process of acquiring integrated ERP software to manage the entire operation.
