Buffalo Soldiers / 9th Cavalry

This one might be my favorite piece from my Great Plains Lifestyle collection - let me tell you about it.

For eighteen years the soldiers known as the 9th Cavalry or the "Buffalo Soldiers", played an important role in northwestern Nebraska history. The first black chaplain in the regular army, served here. So did ten buffalo soldiers who received the Medal of Honor.
