Auckland Book Cover Illustration - Initial sketch

This was a draft design for a book cover concept. It was deliberately keep at a rough draft stage as I worked out the colour scheme and rhythm of the painting. These initial sketches don't always see the light of day as we change our minds along the way or the client has other ideas.
Medium: scraps of cardboard, gouache and acrylic paints, sticky tape, pencil and black pen.
