The crab and the monkey(Payuan tribe)
Once upon a time, a crab and a monkey were good friends. The monkey was kind and gentle yet the crab was rather naughty. They had picked up persimmon together once, and the monkey’s bag was slit by the crab for collecting fruit without climbing the tree.
One day, they set fire to the mountain because they wanted to prove who was better at holding a breath in fired place. The crab stayed near a river, whereas the monkey climbed on the tree; hence, the monkey choked to death by the smoke. The crab was heartbroken, and it literality cut a peace of its heart for its friend. After eating the heart, the monkey was alive. Both of them cherished their friendship more than ever.
