DAY 5 - Build a tower

It's playtime. Let's build a tower today.
Some of you might know this great challenge, but if you don't, you can watch a really interesting TED talk about it, called: Build a tower, build a team.
This challenge was originally introduced by Peter Skillman. The aim is to build the tallest structure possible using 20 spaghettis, one meter of tape, piece of string and one marshmallow which must be placed at the top of the structure. You are part of team of four having 18 minutes to accomplish the task.
What I love about this idea is that you can easily try it at home as this challenge is used in kindergartens as well as in team-building workshops of many tech and business companies.
Another great fact about this challenge is that the best results are usually achieved by kids, whereas business school students usually suck.
This "game" might be fascinating for another reason in those days and that is that we challenge totally new threat in the form of this new virus.
Many countries and hospitals are running out of masks, ventilators and other protective material.
But many tech companies are helping and developing their own aids and masks or transforming existing products to help doctors get protected, in a super short time.
So basically this "game" is right at this moment proving the power of design and rapid prototyping. Especially in these days you need to act fast - you need to fail fast to be successful.
Whatever your job is, take a few minutes and explore these ideas and problems. Think why some people excel and others suck.
Maybe it will help you in your current job or you might come up with a new idea how to help your country fight this pandemic.
Let me know what was your best result and if you found this challenge interesting.
