H for Hijikata Toshizō

Hijikata Toshizō (土方 歳三, May 31, 1835 – June 20, 1869) was a Japanese warrior. As Vice-Commander (副長, Fukucho) of the Shinsengumi, he resisted the Meiji Restoration.
Born in the Ishida village, today known as Hino, a suburb in Tokyo, he was raised by his Sister in Law, since his family member deceased. After selling medicine from his family business, he later enrolled in the Shinsengumi Police force.
