Courage Asks
There comes a time when we’re called by courage.
And it can look like the world is stopping still.
And it has.
And it’s weird.
And we don’t quite know what to do.
But courage tells our heart to settle.
And courage asks our thoughts to be still.
And suddenly the noise and the busy-ness has become eerily still.
Courage opens the door for disruption.
It breaks the window of our routines.
And this is a holy intrusion.
Because we get to see, who we’re really meant to be.
Courage stands up to fear.
It tells it to back out the door.
Courage is also the tone of humility.
It’s the one who initiates before the shit hits the floor.
Courage teaches our hearts to laugh, to dance, to sing. To make the work we feel self conscious about.
Courage takes us back to another era
We see life lived through our grandparents eyes.
Oh how they’re laughing now
When we thought we had it better before.
