Three deck design

1978 -
Before a started the design I thought back to when my uncles started skating in the 70s.
reminisced over the amazing photos 1979. That got me to thinking about the history of NZ skating and the relaxed surf/hippie style of the day and I decided then and there to design a throwback deck that would grab attention from the wall in stores, be something the older riders would love and have a difference in design that young riders would post about.
I decided on yellow, red and blue in retro 70s colours and called it 1978 for that is since when NZ skating really began.
The actual design is connecting a purely NZ style with our nature, creativity and passion for skating.
