I was inspired by this beautiful portrait series of Rwandan refugees by photographer Miia Autio, while working on a campaign for global health (yes, a timely topic).

This direction didn't live beyond the first afternoon of concept exploration, but I'm still struck by the layers in these photos and individuals displaced from their native landscape.
Of this project, Miia says, "In the end the main question of the series is, whether home is just a mental image for us all?"
