Owlet Care
Owlet is known for its product, the Owlet Smart Sock, which reads a baby's heart rate and oxygen levels at night so that parents can rest assured.
I was hired to discover and analyze the risks and benefits to the business of multiple product ideas. One of those ideas is the Owlet Video Camera. I was able to validate the idea through market research, competitive analysis, and iterative refinements with the executive team throughout the entire product development cycle. Owlet already had an app for the Smart Sock. I was in charge of designing and iterating on what would become a combination of the Smart Sock readings and Camera streaming into one cohesive app.
In bringing a new product to life, I validated and prioritized features, to highlight the most valuable content. We iterated the presentation of all crucial features through a wide range of display options. I employed extensive surveys and user interviews to validate the camera feature set – two-way talk, background audio, and live streaming.
I’m happy to say that the camera launched in December 2017, and the app is on both the App Store for iOS, and the Google Play Store for Android.
