VoCat - Learn Catalan with emoji
For those of you that know me well, I’ve been studying Catalan for the past few years. Languages don’t come easily to me, especially when it isn’t widely spoken outside of of its native country, making resources scarce. This means that they usual apps don’t really meet my needs, so I decided that I wanted to make something that would help others starting to learn Catalan, that would’ve helped me when I began studying it a few years ago.
Today, VoCat went live on the App Store, it’s a super simple vocabulary reference that uses emoji to help users memorise vocabulary. The app is also localised into Spanish, which should mean it is helpful to primary school kids in Catalunya.
Durant els últims 4 o 5 anys he estat estudiant català. Els idiomes no és una cosa que em siguin fàcils, i encara menys quan no és un idioma que sigui extensament parlat fora de la seva regió. Els recursos són escasos i les apps no són de gaire ajut. Per això vaig decidir crear una app que pugui ajudar aquells que estan emprenent el camí d’aprendre català, i que tant m’hagués ajudat quan jo vaig començar fa uns anys.
Avui VoCat s’ha fet pública a l’App Store, és una guia de vocabulari molt simple que fa servir emojis per ajudar a memoritzar vocabulari. L’App està traduïda a l’espanyol perquè així també pugui ser útil per a alumnes de primària catalans.
