Mujan photography | minimalist portfolio website

This is a project I did for Mujan, Belgrade based photographer that glorifies female beauty and fashion.

We wanted to create very clean portfolio, without unnecessary decorative elements that would distract from photos.

To put in focus his beautiful collections, I decided to design this portfolio as monochromatic canvas that won't compete his art. I wanted to allow user to choose more pleasant environment for viewing photos by switching between light and dark (default) mode.

Minimalist concept is translated to UX as well. I wanted to make navigating through site distinctive, yet instinctive (yeah, it rhymes). That's why I designed landing as a carousel of selected work, but also as a bridge that connects info page and collections. So, every time user crosses that bridge he has a chance to see Mujan's new inspiring work.
