iko-eco Application Interface
iko-eco is a smart route optimisation eco-tourism application that helps users string together their chosen destinations via the most eco-friendly route based on their comfort level. Together with my team from HyperX 2019, we created the iko-eco ui prototype on Figma. I will go through my design thought process below:
Firstly, our application is a route optimisation tool, so users should already have several destinations in mind. Our application would then string these destinations together along with other attractions that the algorithm thinks the user would like based on the other information provided in the second page.
As these additional information are not of topmost importance, they are placed together on one page, so users can quickly get indicate their preferences.
The main feature of our application is the map route. Users can vary their desired level of sustainability and comfort using the sliders (levels vary from a range of 1 - 10). By varying these levels, a different route would be shown on the map.
(Not shown in photo):
Suggested attractions within a close distance to the route would be displayed for the users to check out. If they are interested, they can add these destinations and the route would make a slight detour.
