Grasshoppers 🦗
As a kid, I used to spend my summers with my family at my grandparents’ countryside house in Lebanon.
I’ve been remembering this a lot lately, possibly since my grandfather passed away 10 years ago.
The afternoons were cooler, so I’d put on a sweater and follow him into the fields with my brothers and cousins as he’s taking care of his terraces.
We’d walk through the bushes, eat a lot of wild blackberries on the way, find a clearing and just hang out there.
I remember we had this weird interest in collecting grasshoppers in empty perfume bottles, then releasing them.
