Always enjoy watching marmots, busy and boisterous they have lots of attitude and personality, it was a great drawing assignment to get me remembering encounters with these furry meadow dwellers. Getting used at 50% this size I am drawing them oversized to simplify forms even further, challenge of creating a family for an ever growing wild life library with consistent forms. I have decided large mammals get head and straight on feature treatments. Medium and small animals of the Canadian Rockies that are more identifiable by their body shapes will get side profile treatments.
