Magnetically attaching back cover has a hinge, so you can use it as a kickstand. When you want to use the tablet in your hands, to make it lighter you can detach the cover. Tablet can also be attached to a keyboard base and used as a traditional laptop, or in combination with a back cover to help with stability (helpful when using the touchscreen).
