Jerk

Working on a few illustrations for a project. I'm usually pretty heavy digital work, but I'm doing this one by hand. For those of you that do a lot of that, how do you handle pencil lines? Are you just retracing work out as marker only, or is there a better way to combat them in Photoshop?
