The Public Charge Rule
Data Visualization about the new “Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds” final rule.
Trump's government recently passed a new "public-charge" rule that create a complete new set of requirements for those who will try to stay/join their loved ones in the United States. Now, you could be denied if you are an applicant whose incomes and financial assets are below 250% of the poverty line ($41,150 for couple without children). More than half the noncitizens who arrived during the past five years did not meet this minimum.
Around 200,00 couples will be kept separated per year. This will have profound racial effects: Central & South American, African and Asian immigrants will end up being the most disadvantaged groups.
