Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted some work here. Usually, I don't go for long comments on my shots, but sometimes you have to express yourself differently, just to make the community better.
Essential part of Dribbble are designers. We often forget about the other part - scouts. Recently, I've received a work enquiry from a client to do a redesign of his business web front-page. After a nice discussion about his desires and my ideas, we agreed about the price and I started prototyping a new layout. I felt very good about this enquiry, client was opened, everything was going really well. Then after couple of hours, I received an email from him, writing me that another designer was hired for a project. Just a little bit after perfect conversation, after a sealed deal.
I was thinking, maybe I need to show more clearly that I'm a reliable guy. Someone will say, maybe that's the issue. But after a long thinking, I'm not truly convinced in that. I tent to be reliable and act professionally as much as I can. Maybe he found a cheeper deal? We agreed about the price, that couldn't be a problem.
I wasn't mad about the money. It's hard sometimes to explain to people, that most of designers don't consider money as their primary goal. At least, that's the situation about me. I was mad because he didn't trust me. He picked me, but he didn't trust me.
I felt that I need to finish the project even though I was literally "kicked out". I had to finish it just to give one good advice to all potential clients and people who want professional service.
"Be patient and trust your designer."
That says it all.
As for the design goes, probably there are some details to work on, but layout works, it's clean and simple. Real pixels are attached.
Cheers,
Your fella Alek
