What Hides In The Deep

The ocean, sea and open water, in general, is one of my favourite subjects for illustrating. There is something eerie about a body of water stretching as far as the eye can see in all directions including down below. It makes my skin crawl. I think there are very few situations as horrible as being a submariner and running into a minefield, hearing the cables of the mines running across your hull, not knowing if and when its going to blow. When it does, it will hit you like a force of nature. Mines were made to take out hulking behemoths like battleships and carriers, submarines are chump change compared. That's a one way ticket for sure.
