So Hum So What

I made this emblem for my Mom's birthday.

It contains the 5 elements, space, water, earth fire and air; the 3 doshas of vatta (air), kaffa (earth), and pitta (fire); and the 3 gunas of sattva (white), rajas (red), and tamas (black). Om is at the center, representing its unity with all these elements.

The placement of the elements corresponds to their respective energy level and relationship to each other.

The phrase So Hum literally means "I am that", and the full phrase is a play on words, combining ancient wisdom of self with dispassion.

The Sun and Moon represent passage of time, and encircle the elements, implying that the center of the emblem is Earth.
