Peaceful Waters

This is an illustration that I did for Smaugust 2019 the prompt was sea dragon. I did some research and found that most people draw and paint horrors of the deep when it comes to this type of dragon. I like to see dragons in roles that do not involve burning down villages. When I set out to draw and later color the dragon I wanted it to be a gentle giant of the sea and not very threatening. It was a lot of fun creating a sense of depth and the feeling of being underwater. The glowing on the plants on the dragon was also fun and made the light and shadow in the piece fun to do.
