SUKEBAN - Brand Development

SUKEBAN is an underground pop-up event experience in Chicago. It is inspired by the 1970's Japanese feminist movement, "sukebans" who were seen as rebellious and delinquent girls who resisted the status quo.

They were commonly known to wear the kitsune fox masks to hide their identity when wreaking havoc. This motif is used as an "omen", a pre-cursor of when each pop-ups secret location will be announced.

"Omen of the downfall" was the term Japanese police used to communicate when a Sukeban spotted.
