*Situation*
A Help Hotspot is a detailed tool-tip offering in-app guidance and links through to more detailed support materials.

*Problem*
Users rely on help hotspots for in-context guidance. But displaying several hotspot icons on a page results in excessive visual noise.

*Solution*
All hotspot icons are hidden by default. The app instead watches for signals that a user may need help or is becoming frustrated.

Immediately a signal is triggered, the app will subtly fade-in only the relevant hotspot icon.

*Outcome*
- App users are shown the assistance they need at the exact moment in time they need it.
- Power users are not distracted and slowed-down by unnecessary visual noise.
- Product team has more meaningful metrics to identify potential UX problems in the app
