Genius Project Map

What does it mean to be a genius? For this project I researched over 200 revolutionaries, scientists, artists and historical inventors to come up with the top 60 geniuses. The list is based off of over 20 different public-polled lists of geniuses found on the internet. For the research portion of this project I explored the demographics of each genius, taking note of their age, lifetime, year of peak, duration of peak, field of study, gender and race.Tasked to concept, design and build a creative product based on research was no small task. 60% of my time was dedicated on gathering enough data to supply a product. Once I had enough information I identified patterns in the research to guide my design.

For example, I was able to define category of industries to 17 fields. From there the fields were split into 2 areas, the sciences and the arts. This allowed for me to assign color significance (cool vs. warm).

​I enjoyed this project because it required me to strategize my process and create a design system.
