„COLOR BOUND“ Kobe Bryant artwork
I am from the era of MJ. MJ inspired me to play basketball besides school mates and my San Antonio Spurs Basketball from the Supermarket. I loved MJ and still do. But then came Kobe. In my early Basketball years he had an indescribable impact on me. I was obsessed by the way he moved on and off the court. He was so athletic, so elegant and he had mojo. His whole charismatic appearance mesmerized millions and made him become the new great hope of Basketball. He worked his ass off to be mentioned in one breath with MJ and he earned every stripe possible. I wore my hair like Kobe , tried to dribble, drive and dunk like him. I didn’t want to be like Kobe I wanted to be Kobe! That was as a Teenager trying to find my place in this big wide world. As a grown man I still loved him, understanding more of what it means to become the shining legend he became, by doing everything he possibly could to be the best player he could. His invincible mindset and sheer supernatural willpower are manifestations of human greatness. I never had the opportunity to meet him in person and yet it feels like I am losing someone real close. It´s crazy how deeply the news touched me and still touch me! Your body might be gone but your spirit is still alive! The spirit of greatness.
