The goddess of endurance races
This illustration is inspired by Courtney Dauwalter, an ultramarathon runner. She finished the Moab 240 race (a race that has 384 km distance) in 2 days, 9 hours, and 59 minutes, faster than any of the men in the pack and beating the second-place finisher by more than 10 hours. At a certain pint during the race she began hallucinating while she was still running around 1:40 am. During the race she slept one minute at a food point after which she continued the race to victory. I got to see her live in Chamonix at the Ultra trail de Mont Blanc last year, where she obviously won 1st place. This illustration is part of my personal project and challenge to create 300 illustrations year with themes from the news. As I use this challenge to experiment with styles, it’s not used for any commercial reasons at this moment. So feel free to contact me and discuss if you want to buy any of them or collaborate on projects/jobs.
