"Pocket"—Expense Tracker

Pocket is an expense tracking app. Pocket partners with users along their financial journey. The prototype proposes to use data science and machine learning to analyze users’ personal finances and help users to make smarter decisions about their budget and spending. The app features dashboards with a pie chart, histogram, line chart and “liquid” chart that tell users how much they’ve spent on each customized category monthly, weekly and daily. Users can pay credit cards, utilities, transportations, rent cars, book hotels, and book flight tickets through the app. The app tells users how much they’ve saved compared with their historic spending on each category and giving awards. There is a “magic camera” feature embedded in the app, which users can use it to scan QR code on the grocery shopping receipt to get to know the percentage of the amount they have spent on each category. The app connects with the local area network which enables the “magic camera” function to detect the price of an item and provides better price options.
