It's not makeup, it's ammunition.
If your perception of makeup tutorials are tweens vlogging about highlighter, you're going to be pleasantly surprised by Lisa. She's bright, articulate, super knowledgeable and lo and behold has a similar skin type to me. (Oily, heading into 40s). Watching her makes you feel like you've invited a close friend round to chat touche eclat over a gnt. She's great.
Lisa boasts an impressive track record. She's been a creative director for Lancome, done many Vogue covers, and created the makeup for many red carpet looks you'd recognise. Delightfully she's not tucked away in the upper echelons of fashion. She has grown her YouTube audience through a lot of dedication and hard work. What makes her channel stand out is how relatable and warm she is, plus nice production and lighting. You get a pretty accurate idea of how colour and products will sit on your own skin. In makeup vlogging that's an obvious must.
One of my favourite aspects of Lisa's YouTube journey is her lipstick range. I would argue she's created a product that's genuinely innovative. The colours are bold and wearable. But it's their unique velvet texture that makes them delightful to wear and truly stand out. It's a clever move. Lisa is uncompromising with how she develops products. From a design perspective, it's a really interesting case study to check out.
The thing that stands out is how much passion she has personally for her products. She sells lipsticks and precious gem rings. Not the most obvious mix. But Lisa pulls both off brilliantly. She has unashamedly created things that she would treasure and wear for herself.
*Ps. This is one of my all-time favourite lines of ad copy. I googled it but couldn't find it's creator. From memory, it was used by Boots No 7 in the 90s.
