Day: 032 - Crowdfunding Campaign

For today’s challenge, I created a mock crowdfunding campaign on a platform that would act similar to Fundly. The centerpiece of the crowdfunding would be to generate awareness and support for mental health issues. Ideally, I would like to see a cause like this gaining some real traction, positive mental health is something I am very passionate about.

I think mental health has been criminally underlooked and gone underappreciated for far too long. Two main problems in America right now that could benefit from better mental health programs would be homelessness and mass shootings/gun control. I think a common root of these major issues is mental illness, and as a society, we could greatly benefit from better health programs.

As for design, I wanted to display a massive support button so visitors have no issues discovering how to donate. Also, to increase donations and website interaction, I wanted to largely display the top 5 donors. A great example of this type of friendly and generous donation activity can be seen on Twitch. Streamers create donation goals live, and viewers can donate and see their names live on stream, top donors are displayed persistently.
