Daily UI #010 - Social Share

For this challenge, I wanted to tackle a real-world problem I am starting to notice regarding social sharing icons.

Social share buttons are starting to become too abundant with the appearance of so many social media platforms in the past years. This has caused designing social share buttons or lock-ups to become more tedious if you want to visually accommodate all the various social share icons. I have even seen some sites include upwards of 20 different icons, creating visual chaos.

To solve this problem, I hid all the access information behind a click of one single share button. That saves a lot of visual space for a UI, without excluding too many share buttons. The design could also be resized to include as many icons as necessary, the size of the icons and modal could modularly expand or contract.

The final Twitter modal is more stylized than what the user would see if this component was live. To make to animation more aesthetically pleasing, I re-designed the typical browser share popup.
