As much as we’d like to be able to control how people collaborate, users and the people they’re working with have preferences. The key benefit here is affording users the ability to choose where they’re sending a piece of content based on their active communication applications. Skype’s open? Show it as a choice. Skype’s closed, hide it. Outside applications may lose the “digital paper trail,” but integrations and analytics on what pieces of content are being shared to what platforms, and how frequently, could help to close the gap.
