A Thought: Real-time Word Count

Being that Twitter is now the ubiquitous tool that it is, I had a thought…

While drafting any random chunk of text, we Twitter users may feel the impulse to save a bit or two for Twitter — quotes, full sentences, small tidbits. Given my own propensity to do this, I feel that text editor apps should consider implementing a global, real-time word count into their interfaces.

(This isn't a recommendation about *how* it should look, just a sample exhibiting how helpful it would be to have an ever-visible, first tier word count)
