Public Transportation Website - Nasıl Giderim?

Last year, I had the pleasure of designing Nasıl giderim? where you can find the most up-to-date information on getting from point A to point B in Istanbul using public transportation. After the launch, the system is now being used by more than 100,000 people every day.

This was an interesting project for me because we had to create the design under many constraints, which I think in the end made us create a very functional product. I wouldn’t honestly say it’s the most beautiful design out there but it’s real and it works :) Material design guidelines had to be used - which was fine. Everything had to be on one page, which could turn out overwhelming when an itinerary in Istanbul covers more than five pages. Also, at the time I was more familiar with designs that had multiple pages and a corresponding navigation. The winner of constraints though - time! I only had a weekend to design and a couple of days for the iterations. However, the developers (they are not from IETT, the transportation authority of Istanbul, neither am I) were very helpful and we managed to pull it off together.
