Renowned as a design classic, the Coca-Cola bottle has been celebrated in art, music and advertising. Designed in 1915 by a team at Root Glass Company headed by Alexander Samuelson, it’s inspired by the shape of a cocoa bean. The reason for a designed bottle is to have a recognizable shape since Coca-Cola had many competitors whose logos were very similar to it. (source: www.coca-colacompany.com)
