UX + UI for funDza reading app

Some sample screens of the UX/UI I designed for funDza.mobi

funDza is a South African project that promotes mobile reading to lower LSM groups. Using local writers and topics relevant to South African communities, funDza makes reading material available to people who have as little as ZAR50 mobile data available per month.

For that reason, the design had to be incredibly light on images and javascript... i.e. no custom fonts! A real challenge, which I solved with the use of lightweight svg icons and an enticing, happy colour palette.
