Monday afternoon’s game saw a dream pitching matchup between Boston’s new star Chris Sale and Detroit’s ace Justin Verlander. Sale struck out ten and pitched into the eighth inning but was edged out by the Tigers despite allowing only two runs in the game — a home run by Ian Kinsler in the sixth and a fielding error that allowed the go ahead run to score in the eighth.
