Belling the Cat
And here we go! This is the first piece from the series of illustrations I did for my Digital Tools & Production Workflow class, inspired by Aesop’s fable ‘Belling the Cat’. The children’s illustration project consisted in creating a total of four artworks, including this illustrated scene from the story, a paper doll based on one of the main characters, a risograph maze puzzle and a promo zine containing all the four assets created throughout the semester for the final project.
This was a challenging project for me because all the illustrations had to be created based on vector art using Adobe Illustrator, a software that I’ve previously used only for logo design and branding development. So yeah, even though the process was kinda hard because I mostly like to achieve a handmade aesthetic with my work, I think I was able to take each of the artworks to a stage with which I felt happy.
