50 Book Covers Project

I’m starting a passion project! I’ve been thinking about starting something for a while now and couldn’t decide what to do. I knew I wanted it to be book covers but I wasn’t sure what exactly. And then I came across a book with 50 Great Short Stories and it hit me. I’m going to make an illustrated cover for every short story in the book! It was a perfect fit because what I really wanted is to expand my book cover portfolio, but I also wanted to practice doing covers for a wide range of stories, and not only pick books I like.

I’ve never read any of the stories from the book so I have no idea what awaits me or if I’ll be able to come up with something for each one. And since they are short, there will not be a lot to pull from so I’ll have to get creative.

I’m giving myself a week for each cover and the plan is to do all the lettering and illustration myself.
