Brave Shields is Brave's built-in privacy protection for users. It blocks trackers and ads, facilitating faster load times.

Brave's users split into experts and non-experts. To avoid overwhelming non-experts, advanced Shields controls are hidden behind an 'advanced view', while satisfying all the needs of an expert user.

The visual design for these two states went through a couple rounds of iteration. This is an updated Principle for Mac prototyping showing a transition when switching between simple and advanced views. Waves!
