Life on Hold Remix Project – Illustration

The Life on Hold Remix Project has been created to help raise funds for the NHS and Mind (a mental health charity). Key artists were invited to create a piece of work, around the theme of Life on Hold. Now they're inviting other creatives to donate and remix those pieces. https://www.lifeonhold.org

This was my remix of Beth Kirby's artwork (https://lifeonholdremix.co.uk/shop/life-on-hold-3). I decided to remix Beth's artwork, because I love the way she embraces and depicts the female form. I’d also just finished watching The Big Lebowski whilst deciding whose work to remix, and Julianne Moore’s line “Does the female form make you uncomfortable, Mr. Lebowski?” seemed like a sign that this was the way to go.

Beth's aesthetic is very different from my own, so I was really keen to see how I could put my own spin on it, using neon colours, bold lines, and some other dumb elements. However, I still wanted to retain the essence of Beth's original idea and composition of being stuck indoors.
