Bate-Bola

It's Carnival in Brazil and if you don't know about it, most people are doing their best to get crazy and enjoy these days like the world is about to end 🔥 MOWE was born in Rio de Janeiro, during the carnival of 2015, and a tradition from suburbs of Rio is the Bate-Bolas ("ball-hitters"), also known as Clóvis. It's a tradition full of joy and colors where masked clowns go out in the streets, usually in huge groups, making noises, striking balls on the ground and scaring people. We partner with Editora Farpa (@farpaeditora), which are doing an incredible project about the Bate-Bolas, to bring one of their characters to life. Farpa is a collaboration of two people we love and their project tells not only their original story within that world but also tells more about the history behind the tradition itself. The current edition is sold out but check out their amazing work and follow them to know when it becomes available again. Oh! And today's the last day of carnival, so put on your costume and go have some fun! Credits: Original Concept: Mayara Lista and Paula Cruz (@farpaeditora) Cel Animation: André Dias Compositing: Raff Marques
